More and more users are using mobile devices to access web sites and online services, a quick look at the analytics for our website shows that approximately 50% of visitors are now using small screen devices. Having a website that doesn't accomodate these customers could be losing you business.
When building a web strategy for desktop and mobile devices you have two choices, either have a seperate dedicated mobile website where the user is directed to automatically; depending on their device or use the same website and 'resize' and 'hide' selected content to suit the screen size. These options are known as 'mobile websites' or 'responsive websites'.
The problem with a mobile first website is that more often that not you need to duplicate the content in a format that will display properly in the mobile framework. The advantage is that the user interface elements for the user can be designed to be more like the 'apps' they are used to using on their device. Responsive website are the same website so their is no need for duplicate content but they do compromise a little on the mobile experience.
For 2013 we have released a number of responsive websites themes that are designed to be feature rich on both desktop and mobile devices. To demonstrate how these website look in all devices we've included mobile and tablet simulator's for your desktop viewing and taken the extra step of providing fully functioning websites not just images so you can experience the how well these websites work. We have four new themes in total and each has been designed specifically to match the core businesses of our customers, namely, hair, beauty, spa and single therapists.
The themes are 'Hairpress', 'Dahlia', 'Beauty Care' and 'Oliv'. All are responsive and use some of the most advanced web technologies to provide a smooth and interactive experience for the user. The themes can bew viewed and demonstrated on our galley page
